Refloated after four weeks

On Oct 26 at 3.15 p.m. the "Anafarta" was refloated in the Istanbul Strait by the tug "Kurtarma 8" after lengthy preparations. Ship's officers evacuated about seven hours after their ship was run aground

The lifeboats "Kiyem 1" and "Kiyi Emniyeti 9" were dsipatched as well as the tug "Söndüren 4" after the "Anafarta" suffered water ingress on Oct 1, 2013, at 3.41 p.m. and started sinking enroute Kuru Yük to Kartal. After it was run aground on the shore in pos. 410 13 'N, 290 20' E, the "Kiyi Emniyeti 9" took off nine crew members at 6 p.m. The master, 2nd officer and chief engineer remained on board to support salvage operations, but at 11.10 p.m. they also had to be evacuated. Intentionally grounded to avoid sinking, Bosphorus

At 1541 LT Oct 1 13 general cargo vessel Anafarta reported water ingress and danger of sinking in Riva area, Bosphorus entrance, Black sea. Tugs were sent, it is understood that vessel was intentionally grounded. 12 crew left the vessel. No injures and no pollution reported.
