Robbers stole ship's stores
The 'ANL Wyong' was boarded by robbers in position 04 43S, 011 45E, at the Pointe Noire Anchorage, on Feb 8, 2021, at 11.50 p.m. During the safety and security rounds, the duty able seaman heard noises from the aft mooring station and spotted two armed robbers. The ship raised the alarm, which caused the robbers to flee the vessel and escaped, with the stolen stores.
Collision off Gibraltar
The "ANL Wyong" was in collision with the LPG tanker "King Arthur" in the afternoon of Aug 4, 2018, in the afternoon of Aug 4, 2018, about four miles southeast of Gibraltar. The "ANL Wyong", which was deployed on EURAF5 Loop connecting Western Europe with Western Africa, was approaching Algeciras, coming from Douala. The "King Arthur" was en route from Istanbul to Rotterdam and transiting Gibraltar waters in western direction. Both ships were damaged in the accident. The "ANL Wyong" berthed at Campamento Port on Aug 5 at 4.20 p.m. with severe damage to the port side stern for repairs, the "King Arthur" moored off Algeciras in pos. 36° 6.14' N 005° 25.11' W.
