Pilot injured during boarding

An Aberdeen pilot sufferd an injured leg while boarding cthe "Atlantic" from a pilot boat around midday on Dec 19, 2018, when the ship was about to enter Aberdeen. The RNLI lifeboat "Bon Accord" was launched to evacuate the pilot and take the "Atlantic" to port. She was safely berthed, and the pilot was transferred by ambulance to hospital. DGzRS-lifeboat loaded onto Atlantic for rescue work in Mediterranean Sea

The liefobat "Minden" was loaded onto the "Atlantic" in Bremerhaven on Feb 9, 2016,and transported into the Mediterrean Sea on request of the Greek sea rescue in order to join the rescue work for refugees. Operations are due to start in the beginneing of March and expected to last until autumn with a crew of eight on board. The lifeboat will be based in the port of Lesbos until being released by two smaller lifeboats which are actually under construction on a German yard financed by a private donator.
