Engine blackout in Brunsbüttel

Sun Sep 15 15:15:38 CEST 2019 Timsen

Upon entering the old southern lock of the Kiel Canal in Brunsbüttel the "Baltic Moon", enroute from Calais to Nakskov, suffered an engine blackout on Sep 15, 2019, at 1.15 p.m. The disabled ship threatened to drift into pilot boats in the old foreport. The 'Dithmarschen' immediately left its berth to avoid things to become worse. The "Baltic Moon" was detained, and after an initial investigation inside the lock it was ordered to moor at the railway station pilings in the canal port of Brunsbütte where it arrived at 3.15 p.m. German report with photo: https://forum-schiff.de/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=23#p162931
