Eight injured in collision
On Jan 8, 2015, the "Beetle" was in collidsion with an unidentified underwater object, probably whale, shortly after leaving Busan bound for Fukuoka, eight miles off the port. She had a speed of 30 knots then. There were 191 people on board, eight of them, among them one crew member, were injured, mostly from falls and bumps, and taken to hospital. Two patrol boats, which came to assist, transported the injured to the shore. The passenger ship Beetle succeeded to reach by own power Busan International Passenger Terminal. It has not suffered significant damage.
