Disabled yacht towed to Clare Island

The 'Cariberia' suffered a loss of power in vicinity 55 18 00.0 N 14 18 00.0 W, 175 nautical miles northwest of Downpatrick Head in the morning of May 21, 2022. The MRCC Dublin received a request for assistance in locating the yacht which was taking part in the OSTAR Transatlantic race from Plymouth, UK, to Newport Rhode Island with one person on board. A search was initiated, which involved the Sligo-based R118 and a UK Coastguard fixed-wing aircraft,.
