Cruise ship diverted due to tropical storm
The "Carnival Splendor" was diverted to San Diego on June 14, 2018, due to the impact of Tropical Storm Bud. It arrived at the Port of San Diego in the early morning as part of the itinerary change. The passengers will spend the day in San Diego before leaving for Ensenada in the evening. Carnival had to replace planned visits to Cabo San Lucas and Puerta Vallarta due to the path of the tropical storm. The ship was set to return to Long Beach on June 16.
Carly Rae Jepsen to perform onboard Carnival Splendor
Singer and songwriter Carly Rae Jepsen will perform a concert onboard Carnival Cruise Line's Carnival Splendor in February 2018, as part of the Carnival LIVE concert series. The concert will take place while Carnival Splendor is at sea during a week-long Mexican Riviera cruise that operates roundtrip from Long Beach, California. Jepsen joins a line-up of Carnival LIVE artists from a selection of musical genres including rock, country, R&B and pop. Previous Carnival LIVE artists include singers Tim McGraw and Carrie Underwood, and comedians Jim Gaffigan and Chris Tucker.
