Perpetrators stole ship's equipment
Three perpetrators, armed with knives, were spotted on the forecastle of the 'Christoph Schulte', which was moored at the Cartagena Alpha anchorage on March 24, 2021, at 12.45 a.m. by an able seaman during his routine rounds. The general alarm was raised, the ship's whistle was sounded and an emergency broadcast via VHF Ch14 to the harbour master was made. The three perpetrators left the ship by lowering the mooring ropes and escaping in a blue-hulled motorboat. There were no reported damages to the ship and the crew was not injured. One six-person life raft, two lifebuoys, boiler suits and safety shoes were stolen. Three Coast Guard personnel boarded the ship for investigation.
