Medevac off Ouessant
On Apr 8, 2014, at 3:20 p.m., the CROSS Corsen was alerted by the maritime center of medical consultation in Toulouse after a sailor aboard the "City of Hamburg" suffered chest pain and had to be medically evacuated. The "City of Hamburg" was located off Ouessant and was enroute to Hamburg. The CROSS Corsened dispatched a Cayman helicopter Cayman of the Navy Base Lanvéoc-Poulmic which was on scene at 4:15 p.m. The patient, a Philippino aged 55, was hoisted and delivered to the hospital Cavale Blanche in Brest at 5.15 p.m.
