Medevac off Anholt
In the afternoon of March 3 a person fell ill aboard the 'Color Fantasy' while the ship was en route from Kiel to Oslo. The Danish Defence medevaced the patient off Anholt and transferred him to shore for further medical care.
Boy born on board
On Feb 25 at 3 p.m. a child was born on the 'Color Fantasy', en route from Kiel to Oslo. The boy was born just one hour after casting off. Crew members performed midwifery. The cruise ferry crew includes trained paramedics who provide first aid in the event of a medical emergency. The captain of the ferry alerted the Norwegian sea rescue center in Stavanger. The colleagues, in turn, passed the message on to the MRCC in Bremen which alerted the lifeboat "Berlin" in Laboe and a civil rescue helicopter from Northern Helicopter. Before the helicopter with the doctor arrived at the ferry, the news of the birth came. Mother and child were taken off board by helicopter and taken to the University Hospital in Kiel, warmly packed and prepared for disembarkation at sea. Since the ferry has a helicopter deck, the decision was made to use the helicopter for quick transport. Jst before 4 p.m., the ferry turned north again.
Medevac in Great Belt
On Feb 25 at 8.25 p.m. a patient was evacuated by a Danish SAR helicopter from the 'Color Fantasy', en route from Kiel to Oslo, which was in the northern part of the Great Belt. The patient was flown to the Roskilde Hospital for further treatment.Upload News
