Medevac off Sandefjord

Tue Jan 21 10:36:39 CET 2020 Timsen

In the morning of Jan 18, 2020, a passenger aboard the 'Colr Hybrid' became acutely ill while the ship was enroute from Sandefjord to Strömstad. The ferry had to change direction to rendezvous with a helicopter from Rygge. The passenger was treated by a doctor among the passengers aboard the ferry, before medical personnel could transport him to hospital by helicopter. The arrival in Strömstad was almost an hour delayed due to the medevac, and the departure back to Sandefjord was thus also somewhat delayed.

Wed Jan 15 13:28:18 CET 2020 Timsen

In the night of Jan 11, 2020, the 'Color Hybrid, enroute from Strømstad to Sandefjord, was hit by a violent wave. A woman and her daughter of eight months fell onto the floor, while the 1,5 year old son who sat in a highchair tipped over and got a table over him. Both the boy and his wife have suffered bruises, and the boy was taken to the emergency room in Sandefjord when the ferry arrived in port. Some loose furniture has been shattered, but beyond that there was no serious damage. Shortly after the wave hit, stores were closed and staff were quickly in place to clean up and take care of passengers. Bottles had rattled from the shelves of the duty free shop, and people fell out of their chairs. The staff was commended for their efforts towards the passengers. Many people were very seasick, and the staff distributed water and checked that everything was good with them. the Meteorological Institute had forecasted wave heights of4.5–5 meters in the Oslo Fjord. Ferry suffered blackout

Thu Oct 17 20:29:38 CEST 2019 Timsen

On Oct 17, 2019, the 'Color Hybrid' stopped in the Sandefjordsfjord. The ship had sailed from the dock in Sandefjord at 5 p.m. but suffered a complete blackout short time after the departure. When the power was restored it was announced over the OA system that there was a loss of control and therefore the ferry had anchored. Just before 7 p.m. it was reported over the speaker system that the ship was ready to return to Sandefjord due to the technical problems for repairs. The departures from Sandefjord at and Strømstad at 8 p.m. were cancelled. The ferry resumed its service to Strømstad on Oct 18 at 10.30 a.m. and finally reached the port at 12.30 p.m.
