Allision in Sluiskil
The "Daniella", 1102 ts (EU-No.: 06003683;), was in allision with a pillar of the bridge on the Ghent-Terneuzen Canal in Sluiskil on Feb 22, 2019, at 7.30 a.m. The ship was breached and sailed into the side channel C in the direction of Axel where it managed to berth at a quay at the canal way in Sluiskil. The bridge could stay in operation. The patrol boat "RWS 88" of Rijkswaterstaat attended. At 08.40 a.m. the situation was under control. The ship which had come from Terneuzen with a cargo of sand was lightered onto the Dutch barge "Sinulia" (MMSI: 244730888), and the Belgian "Tervant 154" (MMSI: 205341690),which had come alongside. The police has started an investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
