Patient medevaced from wheelhouse with ladder truck

Wed Sep 17 12:30:36 CEST 2025 Timsen

The Orange Beach Fire Rescue was called to a medical emergency on the 'Danny Etheridge' on the Intracoastal Waterway on Sep 16, 2025. Firefighters from Station 3’s Ladder Truck 3 and Rescue 3 found the patient inside the vessel’s wheelhouse. He could not walk, and due to the confined space the crews had to find a way to safely and quickly get him out. The firefighters determined the best solution was to use the ladder truck to move the patient from the tug to the banks of the Intracoastal Waterway. Once secured, the patient was transferred into Rescue 3 for transport to the hospital.
