Collision off Mariveles

Fri Aug 28 13:00:08 CEST 2020 Timsen

The 'Malingap' was in collision with the 'Dawn Horizon' in the waters off Mariveles in Bataan on Aug 15, 2020, at 12.15 a.m. She suffered damage to its starboard side bow bulwark, starboard quarter, forecastle deck, starboard side access trunk, railings, and its fire hydrant and hose box. Initial investigations showed that the master of the 'Dawn Horizon' had failed to perform the necessary action based on the advisory of Vessel Traffic Management System Corregidor that it was sailing close and approximately two miles near where the collision occurred. The Philippine Coast Guard started investigating the incident after they received the marine protest submitted by the crew of the 'Malingap'.

E.R. Schiffahrt to Manage Two NYK Ships

Sun Sep 04 13:01:39 CEST 2016 arnekiel

Hamburg-based ship management company E.R. Schiffahrt is expanding its strategic partnerships with international clients and shipping lines. For Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) – one of the largest shipping companies in the world with nearly 800 vessels – the team in Hamburg is set to manage two Newcastlemax bulk carriers with a dead weight capacity of around 210,000 tonnes. The handover of Dawn Horizon, a three-year-old vessel measuring 295 metres, took place in Caofeidian, China, on 30 July 2016. The second ship will be added in September 2016. The management contracts were signed at a ceremony in the German Embassy in Tokyo on 1 September 2016 and include crewing and technical operations as well as quality management, safety, environmental protection and energy efficiency. http://www.maritimeprofessional.com/news/schiffahrt-manage-ships-294788
