Medevac off Kiel

Wed Aug 19 12:17:27 CEST 2015 Timsen

In the afternoon of Aug 18, 2015, the lifeboat "Berlin" of the DGzRS-station Laboe medevaced a crew member of the "Hooge" which was enroute from St. Petersburg to Hamburg who complained of severe stomach pain and needed medical treatment. Tjhe ship was anchoring on Kiel roads. Due to strong winds with upp to 8 Beaufort it was complicated to get on board with the pilot ladder, and to get the 65 year old patient ashore a Seaking helicopter of the Navy was alerted. After the man was stabilized, he was hoisted and taken to hospital. On Aug 19 the ship was still at anchor.
