Engine failure in Dardanelles Strait

On April 26, 2025, the 'MSC Prosperity II' suffered an engine failure while transiting south of Kepez in the Dardanelles Strait, en route from Port Said to Yalova. Under the coordination of the Çanakkale Ship Traffic Services Center, the vessel was successfully relocated to ensure the safety of navigation and avoid disruption to maritime traffic. Medevac off Kochi

A crew member of the 'Hong Prosperity', en route from Nhava SHeva to Qingdao sustained injuries in an accident in the engine room of the ship on Feb 10, 2023. He had to get administered six sutures on his scalp and suffered injuries to his ribs and spine too and was medevaced in Kochi in the evening. The victim was disembarked at the outer anchorage and taken to a private hospital for treatment.
