Erato in collision with Erato
The tank m/v "Erato" collided with the anchored container ship "Erato" at Piraeus anchorage in the afternoon of Sep 29, 2018, while mooring alongside for bunkering. Both ships sustained slight damages, but there were no breaches and leak. In the evening the cargo ship was still anchored in pos. 37° 53.32' N 023° 33.21' E. None of the 18 crew members of the tanker and 32 of the container ship were injured. The Central Port Authority of Piraeus, which carried out the preliminary investigation, detained the two ships until the certification of seaworthiness by the attending classification societies.
