Hole in the hull at Markelo

Mon Mar 05 09:08:18 CET 2018 Timsen

The fire brigade was alerted in the afternoon of March 4, 2018, after the "Esther", 1112 ts (EU-No.: 02103203), which had sailed from Hengelo on March 3 and was berthed at the Industry Way in Markelo suffered a leak. The ship was carrying a cargo of salt. The water was pumped into a tank ashore to prevent oil from entering the Twente Canal. A diver was called to patch the hole in the hull of the ship.
