Excavator well on its way digging out trench off Fehmarn
The 'Fetsy' is well on its way digging out the tunnel trench for the Fehmarn tunnel. The work is currently taking place in the Fehmarnbelt, 10 kilometers from the Danish coastline. The tunnel is composed of 89 elements, spread over the 18-kilometer stretch. The excavating works are being carried out around the clock. 70 tonnes of material can be picked up from a depth of up to 40 meters at a time and stored aboard.
