Disabled ship towed to Tuzla

The 'Fortunate', sailing in ballast, suffered a mechanical failure soon after leaving Tuzla late on Nov 17, 2021, destined for Poti. The ship was crossing the Marmara Sea and approaching Bosphorus, when the incident occurred. Coastal Safety sent the tug 'Kutarma 7' to assist the disabled vessel which was towed back to Tuzla and moored in position 40° 50.49' N 029° 12.65' E on Nov 18 at 3 a.m. and remained stationary for the time being. response was under the coordination of the Istanbul Ship Traffic Services Center.

Suffered engine failure on Jan 27 2012 under unclear circumstances, bound for Iskenderun from Galatz, Romania. As of morning Feb 02 vessel is in Tulcea, Romania, maybe under repairs. Maritime Bulletin http://www.odin.tc

FORTUNATE 9422342

Obe seaman rescued after the fire on board the "Eren Turgut" off the Kent coast on Christmas Eve has died in hospital on Dec 27. He was one of three crew members flown by RAF helicopter to Margate after inhaling smoke. The two other crewmen are in a critical condition and have been moved to other hospitals from the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother at Margate. The vessel meanwhile sailed into the Netherlands' territorial waters.
