High pressure fuel pipe failure
The 'Front Castor', while en route from Sture to Whitegate, Ireland, with 79.000 tonnes of crude oil and 20 crew members on board, suffered a failure of its high pressure fuel pipe in position 55 00 N, 006 26 40 W, on Sep 8, 2020, at 10 p.m. Tugs were reportedly identified by the Belfast Coastguard, but had not to be tasked to assist. After repairs by the crew, the ship carried out engine trials with advice from shore side engineers for 90 minutes to the northwest of the North Channel Traffic Separatiion Scheme. The trials were successful, and the vessel resumed its voyage on sep 9 at 4 a.m.
