Repair of damaged submarine started in Kiel
On May 22, 2019, "U 35" was drydocked at the TKMS yard in Kiel for repairs, 20 months after one of the four blades of the X-rudder got stuck on a rock in Norwegian waters in October 2017 and was bent. As no spare part was available, the ship remained decommissioned until the repair works could be started now. Also "U 36" will berth at TKMS after its allision with a rock in Haakonsvern, damaging a rudder blade.
