Medevac off Brownsville

Tue Oct 04 09:37:42 CEST 2016 Timsen

A Coast Guard aircrew medevaced a 34-year-old man off the "Gobal Anes" 10 miles offshore in the Brownsville Anchorage, off South Padre Island in the morning of Oct 3, 2016. At approximately 9 p.m. on Oct 2 the vessel shipping agent contacted Sector Corpus Christi watchstanders and reported a crewmember was experiencing symptoms from a pre-existing heart condition. The ship's captain requested a Coast Guard medevac upon arrival to the Brownsville Anchorage the next morning because the ship was still 130 miles at sea. Watchstanders launched an Air Station Corpus Christi MH-65 Dolphin helicopter aircrew to perform the medevac. The aircrew was on scene at 7:04 a.m. and took the man to Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville. He is reported to be in stable condition.
