"Fehn Pollux“ to be the frst ship equipped with a Flettner Rotor developed in Leer

Wed Jul 20 10:51:18 CEST 2016 arnekiel

“Fehn Pollux” today welcomed scientists from the University Emden-Leer aboard. “Fehn Pollux“ will be the frst ship equipped with a Flettner Rotor developed in Leer. After extensive checks on land it shall now be tested in its future environment. Because there is no experience with this type of rotor aboard a merchant vessel, extensive pre-calculations and planning are necessary which include today’s visit aboard. The “Eco Flettner WHC” is an 18 meter high rotating cylinder which has a diameter of three meters. http://www.hellenicshippingnews.com/experts-visit-fehn-pollux/
