Grab fell onto ship's deck after crane fire

During the discharge operation of the 'Good Hope Max' at the Alumar Terminal, the terminal's shore crane suffered a fire, which caused the grab to fall on the deck of the vessel on July 18, 2022, at around 3.30 p.m. LT. The reason for the fire on thecrane was not disclosed. The vessel was discharging its cargo of wet bauxite under good weather conditions, when the incident happened. The damages to the vessel were investigated. The ship left the port on July 20 at 4.10 p.m. and moored on Itaqui anchorage at 6.45 p.m. the same day.
