Repairs completed
The 'Gundem Makbule' was towed to the Gulluk anchorage on Nov 2. Spare parts and technical support from aan uthorized manufacturer were provided by the owners to carry out repairs. The sea trials performance test conducted gave satisfactorily result, and as a result the vessel heaved up anchor and sailed again on Nov 3 with an ETA at Tulcea as of Nov 7.
Buk carrier under tow to Gulluk
The 'Gundem Makbule', en route from Leghorn to Gulluk, suffered an engine failure in vicinity 37 00 49 N, 021 24 10E, northwest off Sapientza island on Oct 27, 2021. As repairs could not carried out by thecrew, the tug 'Pothitos' (IMO: 9012094) was called from Kalymnos on Oct 28 to provide assistance. The towage operation commenced on Oct 29 with an ETA at Gulluk as Nov 3.
Allision in Brunsbüttel
On Sep 12, 2018, around 6 a.m. the "Gundem Makbule", enroute from Sceczein to Kalamaki, allided with the container m/v "Tina", (IMO:9277383 9277383), which was underway from Gdynia to Hamburg, upon leaving the New Northern lock of the Kiel Canal in Brunsbüttel towards the Elbe. When the ship contacted the berthed “Tina”, both ships suffered scratches at their starboard foreships. The “Gundem Makbule” also suffered dents at the poop deck at port side, and a position lantern was damaged. As all damages were above the water line, the vessels were allowed to continue their respective voyages in the morning hours. The “Tina” continued to Hamburg at 7.15 a.m. and had reached the port by 11 a.m. The “Gundem Makbule” was expected in Kalamaki on Sep 22.
