High Court of Singh has set tentative date

Mon Dec 11 10:16:00 CET 2023 Timsen

The High Court of Sindh has set a tentative date for hearing the case for Dec 21 for the 'Haj Ibrahim', which was arrested as per local court order Adm. Suit (S) 5/2023 near Karachi on May 27, 2023. The case was still pending against the tug owner, who has been accused of violating Pakistan's territorial water limits and defaulting on supplying a vessel to a foreign firm in India, which later filed the case in Pakistan. The court notices were repeatedly sent to the owner to defend the case.

Owner faces administrative suit

Fri Jul 14 18:18:54 CEST 2023 Timsen

The owner of the 'Haj Ibrahim' was facing Adm. Suit 5/2023 Karachi dated Jun 06, 2023, filed by M/s Highseas Ltd (St. Vincent and the Grenadines) for the recovery of $612,000/- for not honouring a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) dated Sept 24, 2022, to supply/deliver the supply ship 'Era' (IMO: 8121422) between Nov 25, 2022, and Nov 30, 2022, in India. According to the application, the Highseas paid in advance 400,000 dollars to buy the 'Era' and were waiting for the same until the filing of the case in Pakistan. The 'Haj Ibrahim' was supposed to tow its sister vessel 'Era' in India but was repeatedly delayed through one pretest or another. The applicant believes/suspects that the owner of the 'Haj Ibrahim' wants to sell the 'Era' to other parties or has dumped it in the high seas out of Pakistani water recently. The 'Hai Ibrahim' was under arrest at Karachi Port. Earlier, it was believed that the owner of the 'Hai Ibrahim' was trying to sell it, but in fact, he was trying to sell the 'Era'. However, the applicant warned the Pakistan Ship Breaking Industry about the legal consequences if anyone buys the 'Era'. . The applicant requested that the court order security from the defending party or sell the tug and recover their losses. -
