Shuttle tanker Hanne Knutsen to undergo conversion at Remontowa

Thu Dec 03 12:41:15 CET 2015 arnekiel

Shuttle tanker Hanne Knutsen will undergo conversion at Remontowa. According to the Company, it will be a significant and noteworthy makeover. At peak, expected in January 2016, around 1000 people will be involved in the conversion of Hanne Knutsen. Remontowa together with the Owner's team had commenced necessary preparations long before the ship arrived. Most of the prefabrication was done at that time. In April this year, the celebrative first steel cutting for the prefabricated structures took place, attended by numerous representatives of involved companies. The FSO to be converted from the shuttle tanker Hanne Knutsen at Remontowa, will feature a remote-controlled system which allows the processing of oil and water to be controlled from a Central Control Room onshore in Norway. http://en.portnews.ru/news/210923/

Fri Oct 25 21:40:18 CEST 2013 Timsen

A former naval officer whose yacht collided with the "Hanne Knutsen" in the Solent during the Cowes Week 2011 has been found guilty of contravening maritime regulations on Oct 25, 2013. Lt Roland Wilson, from Stanley, Perthshire was fined and ordered to pay more than £100,000 in costs following a trial at Southampton Magistrates Court. The 32-year-old was convicted of impeding the passage of a vessel and failing to keep a proper lookout. The "Atalanta of Chester" belonged to Lt Roland Wilson who was a serving Royal Navy officer at the time but is now a lieutenant in the reserves, had seen the tanker from five miles away, the court heard. It had been making its way to Fawley oil refinery. Wilson had told the court the ship had signalled to turn but never did, describing its manoeuvre as "unexpected". District Judge Anthony Callaway said he took the wrong decision in continuing towards the path of the tanker and not taking evasive action.
