Former DGzRS boat handed over in Montevideo
The "Isla de Flores" and "Isla de Lobos", the two new ships of the National Navy, were handed over on Nov 23, 2018, in Montevideo. The two ships, the former "Hannes Glogner" and "Hermann Helms", were purchased by the Uruguayan government from the DGzRS in Germany for less than one million dollars and baptized. Both boats were transferred to La Paloma to continue with the training of the crew on nov 24. In addition to these two ships, the purchase of two rescue helicopters and three surveillance aircraft is planned.
