Damaged ship en route to Mokpo

The bulbous bow of the 'Heng Yu' was dented in the collision with the fishing vessel 'Hye Seung 153' in position 34 00 55 N, 127 08 22 E off Geomundo-Island on Dec 14 at around 03.50 a.m. The damage had a dimension of 2x4 metres. The ship will sail to the Wando anchorage, Mokpo, where the South Korean Coast Guard is scheduled to interrogate the crew of the ship.

Collision with fishing vessel, two missing

The 'Heng Yu', en route from Gwanyang, Yeosu, to Nanjing, was in collision with the 129-ton fishing vessel '153 Hye Seung' from Korea about 50 nautical miles southwest of Yeosu in the East China Sea in the morning of Dec 14, 2021. The fishing vessel sank, and of the 27 fishermen on board 25 were rescued by the Coast Guard, while two remained missing. An SAR operation was underway. The 'Heng Yu' was adrift near the accident site.
