Heritage Expeditions to operate cruise ship

Starting in May 2022, the Heritage Expeditions will start operatin the 'Rcgs Resolute' as 'Heritage Adventurer' with a maximum of 140 passengers after a massive overhaul. Actually the company is operating the smaller 'Spirit of Enderby' and 'Akademik Shokalskiy' and the expedition yacht 'Heritage Explorer'. The cruise ship will be sailing from areas ENE of Russia through the South Pacific to the Antarctica and the Ross Sea.

Cruise ship auctioned for 600,000 Dollar

The 'RCGS Resolute' was sold at auction in Curacao for a slim $600,000 on June 22. The book value of the ship was previously said to have been in the $25 million range. It is also possible the buyer was the existing owner of the vessel, using the auction as a tool to clear any debts on the ship. It is unclear whether Venezuelan authorities will let the ship leave Curacao.

The 'RCGS Resolute' is to be auctioned in the port of Curacao on June 22 after the Canadian One Ocean Expeditions declared insolvency. Under the management from Columbia Cruise Services, the vessel has been docked in Curacao ever since its collision with a skeleton crew aboard. According to court documents the shipowner is responsible for debts of just under $4 million. The ship said to be in need of minor repair following the collision.
