Chief engineer fell over board and was not found

The Russian Chief Engineer of the 'Karelis 71', en route from Gemlik to Temryuk, fell overboard on Jan 26, 2022, in the Black Sea, about 10 nautical miles off the Turkish coast. The ship anchored at Bartin anchorage for SAR operations and investigations. Helicopters and rescue boats were deployed in the SAR operation which was hampered by adverse weather in the area. The man could not be found, and the cargo ship resumed its voyage.
