The situation of the "Karl" is becoming increasingly problematic after the ship remained moored for already one month at the north pier of the 5the basin in Brest. In the afternoon of Mar 25, several interested parties including ITF inspectors, representatives of the international transport union and the ship's agent met but achieved little progress. For the unions, there was no question that the solvent owner did not pay the wages and repatriation of seafarers. On Mar 29 the contracts of the crew will expire; two sailors already left, five sailors want to leave the ship. They came from Hondurasand Romania. The ship has a new master after the previous left without receiving all of his salary, as well as the chief engineer. The state of the 800 tons of potatoes, worth € 326,000, was getting problematic.
