Heavy fire on cargo ship in Stockholm
On Dec 3, 2016, at 2.30 p.m. a fire broke out aboard the "Emsrunner" at the North Harbour Road in Stockholm. Rubbish on board had caught fire. It was extinguished at 3.30 p.m. Several people were treated for smoke Inhalation and were taken care of by emergency personnel, but no one needed to be brought to the hospital. The ship had arrived from Salacgriva only at noon and was docked at the ferry terminal. The vessel shifted to the Container Terminal in the Freeport of Stockholm on Dec 5. The cause of the fire had been a sack with oily rubbish deposited near a hot exhaust pipe on the aft quarter.
