Fri Feb 19 13:57:01 CET 2016 Timsen

On Feb 19, 2016, at 5.50 a.m. the fire rescue in Duisburg was alerted to a fire in the engine room of the "Laura", 1144 ts (EU-No.: 4011240), on the Rhine, river km 779,5, near Duisburg-Homberg. Upon their arrival the ship had dropped anchor of the chemical company Sachlebenm and dense fume was emerging from the aft. Barge caused oil spill

Thu Mar 13 13:00:18 CET 2014 Timsen

In the evening of Mar 12, 2014, the "Meggen" caused na oil spill at Datteln in the Weser-Datteln-Canal. The ship which was carrying steel rolls had berthed near the Markfelder Street-Bridge to bunker water. Instead of pumping it into the fresh water tank, it was pumped into the cooling water system causing an overflow in a fuel tank so that lube oil floated into the canal. The fire rescue surrounded the ship with an oil boom and started removing the spill. Report with photo: http://www.derwesten.de/staedte/unser-vest/oel-im-kanal-id9113222.html#plx1199772781
