Ferry service suspended due to issue with fast rescue craft

The 'Loch Dunvegan', serving on the route Colintraive-Rhubodach, suffered a technical issue with the fast rescue craft on Sep 13, 2025. As a consequence, the service had to be suspended, and the ship was sidelined in Colintraive for troubleshooting, After the issue has been successfully resolved, the ferry resumed its schedule with the 1:00 p.m. sailing from Colintraive.

Ferry suffered issue with ramp

The 'Loch Dunvegan', serrving on the route Colintraive-Rhubodach, suffered a technical issue with the ramp on July 4, 2025. As a consequence, the service had to be suspended. Afer the issue has been resolved, the service was operating as normal.

Ageing ferry broke down again

Wed Oct 06 11:30:32 CEST 2021 Timsen

On Oct 5, 2021, the 'Loch Dunvegan' broke down for the second time in three weeks due to an engine problem. The issues hittthe main engine in the morning, and the ship was taken out of the services on the five-minute route from Colintraive to Rhubodach for repairs to the rear main engine. The ship came back into service in the afternoon after a sea trial to test the repair.
