Repairs in Tuzla completed
Repairs of the 'Matrix' have been completed in a Tuzla shipyard. The vessel shifted to the anchorage, where sea trials were carried out under the supervision of a class surveyor and the owner's technical superintendent with a satisfactory result. A new set of trading certificates was issued by the classification society and flag state authority. The vessel remaine stationary at the anchorage as of Feb 3.
Repairs in Tuzla underway
The 'Matrix', which had suffered an engine failure in pos. 42 23 00 N, 034 58 30 E on Nov 22, 2021,and was towed to Tekirdag on Nov, 29, got new spare parts for repairs provided by the owners, while repairs were underway in a Tuzla repair yard, as of Jan 8, 2022. Sea trials were to be carried out at Tuzla anchorage upon completion of permanent repairs.
Disabled ship towed to Tuzla
After repair attempts of the crew of the 'Matrix' at Tekirdag failed, the tug 'Haktan 1' re-attended at Tekirdag in order to tow the vessel to the Tuzla shipyard area. The towage operation commenced on Dec 3 at 2 a.m. The ship entered the shipyard in the evening, upon completion of custom formalities.A Class surveyor together with the owners' superintendent and shipyard duty engineers carried out a detailed damage survey. Shore-based technical teams will commence the repairs as per the class surveyor's technical recommendations.
