La Joie polluted Greece waters

The "La Joie" was detained in Sitia following the result of a chemical analysis of an oil pollution which happened on Oct 31, 2015 in Greece waters. Thje ship was identified as culprit, and the owner has to issue a letter of guarantee ensuring the payment of a fine to get the vesseö released.

Collision in Piraeus

The "La Joie" while leaving the port of Piraeus, was in collision with the inbound cargo m/v "Ahti R" in the afternoon of Jan 16, 2016, in stormy weather conditions. Both ships had a pilot on board. The ships were not headed on crossing routes, but probably the big swell caused problems with steering and thus clashed. Both vessels suffered damages, but there was no leak. The ships were detained for investigation and surveys.

General cargo vessel La Joie reported by passing vessel as disabled and drifting in southeast direction in Aegean sea some 6 nm north of Alimia island, east of Rhodes Island northeast coast. Vessel en route from Beirut to Yiali island, Greece, Aegean sea.
