Ferry sold to Corsica Ferries

Wed May 12 12:00:24 CEST 2021 Timsen

Corsica Ferries has purchased the 'Mariella', it was confirmed on May 12, 2021. Corsica Ferries already operates former Baltic ro-pax cruise ferries, and the ferry, due to be renamed 'Mega Regina' was expected to join the Corsica Ferries fleet later in May following minor refurbishment and modifications in order to debut for Corsica Ferries at the end of June. She served the Helsinki-Mariehamn-Stockholm route which has been suspended in the wake of Covid-19 and is actually berthed at the Katajanokka Quay in Helsinki. Viking Line has spare capacity to replace the 'Mariella', the most likely candidate being the 'Viking Cinderella', which normally operates Stockholm-Mariehamn-Stockholm cruises. In 2022, the Helsinki-Åland-Stockholm ro-pax cruise ferry 'Amorella' also becomes available when replaced by the new 'Viking Glory'.

Viking Line’s Mariella rejoins service after onboard renovations

Mon Sep 25 22:29:53 CEST 2017 arnekiel

Viking Line’s Mariella has rejoined service after a dry dock between 10–22 September 2017. The ferry previously received a significant overhaul in spring 2015 with the renovation of the cabins and restaurants. This time, the work continued with the refurbishment of the café, the adjoining children’s play area, and the reorganisation of the ship’s tax-free shop. During the brief dry docking, Mariella's Coffee & Joy café was renewed. The Coffee & Joy café renovation concept had already received positive feedback on Mariella's sister ship, Gabriella. The range of baked goods and coffee onboard has been expanded with the help of the ship’s newly recruited pastry chef. There have also been minor changes to the tax-free shop to enable Viking Line to more efficiently promote more popular items, such as fashion and beauty products. The selection of table and sparkling wines has also been refreshed.

Viking Line’s upgraded fleet receives the highest general ratings on the Baltic Sea

Wed Jul 06 08:16:57 CEST 2016 arnekiel

The upgrades to the M/S Mariella and M/S Gabriella further boosted customer satisfaction In recent years, Viking Line has made significant investments to upgrade its fleet and improve travel comfort. Extensive renovations were carried out last year on the M/S Mariella and, this spring, the other vessel sailing the Helsinki-Stockholm route, namely the M/S Gabriella, was docked and renovated, the fleet operator said in a press release. On the basis of Viking Line’s regularly conducted customer satisfaction survey, the upgrades have advanced travel comfort and bolstered customer satisfaction. Viking Line predicts that the summer season will fill their newly upgraded ships, so it's a good idea to make bookings well in advance. Viking Line’s customers have traditionally given high ratings for their cruise and route traffic. According to the national Business image survey, conducted in 2015 by Taloustutkimus, Viking Line received the highest general rating (7.92) of all the shipping companies operating in the Baltic Sea region. http://en.portnews.ru/news/222254/
