Tanker repaired in Tuzla

Repairs of the 'Olesya' in Tuzla have been completed on April 16, 2021. The vessel shifted from the repair yard to the anchorage in the afternoon. Sea trials were ti be carried out under the supervision of a class surveyor together with the owner's superintendent before a new set of trading documents is issued upon its completion and a final inspection. The ship had suffered an engine failure at Chaguaramas on March 1, 2018. Repairs initially could not be carried out by due to financial difficulties. The vessel was towed to Tuzla on Feb 6.

Repairs of engine damage in Tuzla

The 'Olesya', which had suffered anp engine failure at Chaguaramas, Trinidad & Tobago, on March 1, 2018, and was towed to Tuzla on Feb 6, 2021, was subject of a detailed damage survey by the surveyor panel together with the owner's superintendent and shipyard engineers since. Permanent repairs have been commenced. Steel thickness measurements were taken by the survey company. Further maintenance of rudder, propeller and shaft system were in progress. The vessel remained stationary in the shipyard as of March 16.

Disabled tanker towed to Tuzla

Repairs of the 'Olesya' which had suffered an engine failure at Chaguaramas, Trinidad and Tobago, on March 1, 2018, could not be carried out by the crew and an arrest order due to the owner's financial difficulties. The tug 'Onyx' started towing the ship to Tuzla on Jan 1, 2021, upon completion of towage approval formalities. The convoy arrived at Tuzla anchorage on Feb 6. Upon completion of customs formalities, the tanker entered a shipyard on Feb 7 at 11 a.m. A detailed damage survey and technical inspection was to be carried out by the appointed surveyor panel.
