The "Tiger Spring" which had partially chocked the navigation channel of the Kolkata Port Trust, has been salvaged by Dec 21. The wreck which was partially blocking the navigation channel was salvaged by a crane which was brought in from Singapore. The vessel has been anchored in Diamond Harbour and the cargo unloaded.

The "Tiger Spring" could be towed away early next week. A high-capacity crane from Singapore is being used to offload the ship’s cargo. The crane had already offloaded 170 containers, weighing around 3,500 tonnes, which is almost half of the ship’s cargo. Not the entire cargo needs to be offloaded.
