Ship suffered breach and list off Lizard Point

The 'MSC Katya R.' suffered a crack of approximate seven centimeters length in number 1 FOT(P) fuel tank. The hull was breached and the ship developed a list of five degrees to starboard side in position 48 30 40 N, 13 16 24 W on Feb 1, 2022, at 5.15 p.m. UTC. The ship had received bunkers at Bremerhaven on Jan 31. During routine checks post bunkering an oil slick was observed in position 49 46.70 N, 005 19 50 W, approximately 14 nautical miles southsouthwest of Lizard Point on Jan 31 at 6.45 p.m. Measures were taken to stop the leak by the crew, and the vessel continued its voyage towards Boston, Massachussetts, with an ETA as of Feb 8. A full repair is planned after the arrival in Boston.

Anchor and 10 shackles lost off Rotterdam

On Jan 16, 2018, the "MSC Katya R." lost its port side anchor in Rotterdam anchorage No.5, in position lat 52 08 06N, long 03 38 18E, at 4.7. p.m. Ten shackles were lost together with the anchor. The ship berthed in Rotterdam on Jan 17 at 3.40 p.m.
