Tug saved crew of sunken barge
The "Go Rigel" saved the crew of 11 of a barge which capsized off Papua Neu Guinea, from a life raft 80 nautical miles northwest of PNG's capital, Port Moresby, just hours after a shipping distress call and emergency beacon was activated at 3.30 a.m. on June 20, 2013. Two planes and helicopter assisted in the rescue. The cause of the incident was not known. The AMSA was working with the Maritime Rescue Co-ordination Centre in Port Moresby to gather more information.
