Propulsion trouble in Wellington

Mon Nov 18 10:58:07 CET 2019 Timsen

In the night of Nov 18, 2019, the 'Ovation of the Seas' had a brief stop in Wellington after suffering propulsion issues stopped it near the mouth of Wellington harbour. The ship called for tugs just after 7.30 p.m. while it was exiting the harbour, just off the coast of Seatoun. Two CentrePort tugs held the ship, which was carrying just over 6000 people, while the problem was investigated. At 9 p.m. the ship reported the problem was fixed and resumed its voyage to Napier. A ferry was delayed by 10 minutes while the ship cleared the channel.
