The "Palatine" with 21 persons on board, bound from Rotterdam to Santander, was drifting at one knot 10.5 nautical miles south-south-west of Prawle Point, in lat 50 02.66N, long 03 48.08W on Jan 19, 2018, at 10.30 a.m. In the run of the day the crew completed repairs and the ship was under way again for Santander.

Ferry damaged in allision

Fri Mar 31 09:47:58 CEST 2017 Timsen

On March 26, 2017, the "Palatine" covering the route Zeebruge-Leixoes, suffered a gash at its starboard side when docking in the port of Santander. The hull was breached above the water line on a length of about 11 meters. The shipping company made the decision to repair the damage at dock II in Astander after the ferry was unloaded in Santander. She was assisted to the Astander shipyard by the tug "El Península" on March 29. The repair will take around seven days. Photo: http://www.shipspotting.com/gallery/photo.php?lid=2637246
