The "Peary Spirit" was towed to the Odense Steel Yard Ltd. in Munkebo on Apr 4 at noon and drydocked for repairs of the breach in its starboard side.

Tanker breached in allision

During a berthing manoever in the Elbe Port Brunsbüttel the "Yeoman Bridge" slammed into the starboard side of the berthed tank m/v "Peary Spirit" in the evening of Mar 30, 2016, at 8.20 p.m. The hull of the tanker, which had come from Teesport, was breached on a length of 25-30 meters about nine meters above the water line. The unloading operation was immediately stopped, and no gas escaped. Also the "Yeoman Bridge" suffered damage above the water line. She had sailed from Glensanda on Mar 27.
