Aground in Dardanelles

General cargo vessel Pryazha ran aground in Dardanelles on Jan 01 14 proceeding in southern direction, in front of Kanarya Burnu, south of Gelibolu. Vessel was en route from Azov port, Russia, to Mersin port, Turkey Med. Captain of the vessel reportedly, didn’t ask for assistance, saying vessel will try to refloat by own means. As of morning Jan 3 vessel seemed to be in the same position.

On Apr 13, 2010, at 8.30 p.m. the "Pryazha" grounded on a sand bar on the Volga river at km mark 2817. On April 15 at 11.35 a-m- the river tug "Ozerniy-73" came to assist. At 5 p.m. the vessel was refloated and resumed its voyage Azov – Iran with a cargo of 4299 tons grain on board.
