Ferry service interrupted due to suspicious package
Ferry servicefrom Bolivar Peninsula to Galveston was resumed on July 14, 2016, following a temporary stoppage after a suspicious package was spotted on the "Ray Stoker Jr." about 10:30 a.m. The package was left unattended on the ferry and as a precaution all ferry service was halted while the Galveston Police Department investigated it. After police determined the package was safe, ferry service resumed after about 45 minutes.
