Mon Jan 22 13:00:11 CET 2024 Timsen

On Jan 19, 2024, at midday, the Port Authority of Paleochora was informed about the rescue of 37 migrants on a wooden boat by the 'Rhea Leader' 55 nautical miles south of Paleochora wooden boat. The vehicles carrier then sailed to the western anchorage of Paleochoras, where the castaways were transferred onto a patrol boat. They were safely transported to the "Tigani" port of Paleochora and from there to a temporary accommodation facility of the Municipality of Chania.
