Tue Sep 21 09:51:35 CEST 2021 Timsen

In the night of Sep 20, 2021, the CROSS Griz-Nez was contacted by the tanker 'Rias Baixas Knutsen', en route from Ferrol to the Isle of Grain, which had picked up a shipwrecked boat and 27 migrants off the Pas-de-Calais. The CROSS tasked the lifeboat 'Notre Dame de Risban' of the SNSM station in Calais to assist the castaways. They were dropped off at the port of Calais. The tanker continued its voyage with an ETA as of Sep 21.

The company said through a brief social media statement that the Rias Baixas Knutsen was named the same day its sister vessel, Adriano Knutsen was delivered to the company from the South Korean shipbuilder. Rias Baixas Knutsen is capable of transporting 180,000 cubic meters of the chilled fuel featuring GTT Mark III Flex technology. It is one of three vessels Knutsen has on order at HHI that will be capable of transporting up to 180,000 cbm of LNG and will be the largest in the company’s fleet.
